Job summary

Five Rivers Cattle Feeding in Kentucky is seeking an experienced welder to perform maintenance and repairs on pens, gates, rails, and equipment. The role requires use of cutting torch, MIG/Arc welding, and wire feed welding techniques in a challenging work environment.

You will read safety rules and operating instructions, interpret various written or diagrammatic directions, and contribute to yard construction and replacement projects while maintaining safety and efficiency on site.

Qualifications

• Experience using cutting torch, wire feed welder, MIG/Arc welding techniques.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Responsibilities

• Identify/prioritize necessary repairs through communication with management and review of job requests.
• Utilize cutting torch, wire feed welder, and arc welder to repair gates, pipe fence, and other equipment.
• Ensure operation of welding truck by performing routine service and scheduling maintenance and repair.
• Maintain work area by putting away tools, removing scrap metal, cleaning, and storing equipment.
• May participate in yard construction, renovation, and replacement projects.
• Comply with all applicable safety rules and policies.

FUNCTION:

Performs welding for maintenance and repair of feedlot pens, gates, rails, etc...

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Identifies/prioritizes necessary repairs through communication with management and review of job requests.

Utilizes cutting torch, wire feed welder, and arc welder to repair gates, pipe fence, and other equipment.

Ensures operation of welding truck by performing routine service and scheduling maintenance and repair.

Maintains work area by putting away tools, removing scrap metal, cleaning, and storing equipment.

Inventories tools and other welding supplies by physically counting tools supplied in shop and welding truck regularly; returns tools to their proper storage area after use.

May participate in yard construction, renovation, and replacement projects.

Complies with all applicable safety rules and policies.
