OEG is seeking a Welder for its Cargo Logistics Division on the Gulf Coast. The role focuses on welding, fabrication and repair of offshore cargo carrying units (CCUs) and related equipment to exacting quality and safety standards.

Responsibilities include fabrication of new equipment, repair of CCUs, replacement of corroded components and ensuring all work meets industry requirements. Experience with FCAW, MIG, 6GR welding and reading welding drawings is essential.

Qualifikationen

• Experience welding, fabrication and structural repairs, offshore/industrial equipment.
• Minimum of six months’ experience operating forklifts and overhead cranes.
• Experience in 6GR welding using Flux Core Arc Welding (FCAW) procedures.
• Strong understanding of structural fabrication techniques and repairing DNV assemblies.
• Proven experience in MIG and Flux Core welding techniques.
• Knowledge of welding standards, fabrication processes and safe working practices.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to deliver high-quality welding.

Aufgaben

• Fabricate and weld new equipment, including compactors, per specs and quality standards.
• Carry out repairs and maintenance on cargo carrying units (CCUs) per quality standards.
• Identify, remove and replace corroded or damaged structural components on baskets, shipping containers and related equipment.
• Repair and replace door hinges, latches and other components through cutting, fabrication and reinstallation.
• Safely operate arc gouging equipment, grinders, hand tools and welding equipment to complete tasks.
• Prepare, clean and finish welds using grinding or chipping techniques for high-quality finish.
• Read and interpret technical drawings and welding symbols to ensure accurate fabrication and welding.
• Perform welding in flat, vertical and overhead positions maintaining consistent quality.

Core Purpose

• Carry out high-quality welding, fabrication and repair work on offshore cargo carrying units (CCUs) and equipment, ensuring compliance with OEG’s quality and safety standards.
• Manufacture, maintain and refurbish equipment using a range of welding techniques, ensuring all work meets relevant industry standards and customer requirements.
• Support OEG’s Gulf Coast operations by ensuring equipment is maintained to a high standard, fit for purpose and ready for customer use.

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities

• Fabricate and weld new equipment, including compactors, in accordance with required specifications and quality standards.
• Carry out repairs and maintenance on cargo carrying units (CCUs), ensuring compliance with OEG’s quality standards.

Skills and Experience

• Previous experience in welding, fabrication and structural repairs, ideally within the offshore or industrial equipment sector.
