Job summary

Marmon Holdings is seeking an experienced Welder for our Cardington, OH operations. You will perform TIG and MIG welding on aluminum castings, select proper materials and settings, and repair defects to meet internal standards.

Responsibilities include fabricating equipment, frames, and supports, and safely rigging and positioning castings. A high school diploma or GED is required, with manufacturing welding experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Welding experience with TIG (GTAW) and MIG (GMAW) processes on aluminum castings.
• Ability to select appropriate filler materials and settings for aluminum welding.
• Capable of repairing surface defects, cracks, or porosity to meet quality standards.

Responsibilities

• Weld and repair aluminum castings using TIG and MIG processes.
• Fabricate and assemble custom equipment, frames, and supports as needed.
• Set up castings in fixtures and rigging equipment to ensure proper alignment and access.

We’re committed to making a positive impact on the world, providing you with diverse learning and working opportunities, and fostering a culture where everyone’s empowered to be their best.**Essential Duties:****Welding & Repair*** Perform TIG (GTAW) and MIG (GMAW) welding on aluminum castings* Use appropriate filler materials and machine settings specific to aluminum welding* Weld and repair surface defects, cracks, or porosity in castings* Grind and smooth welds to meet required finish and quality standards* Ensure weld integrity and appearance meet internal specifications**Equipment Fabrication & Maintenance*** Build custom equipment, frames, and supports for foundry operations* Maintain welding tools and report equipment issues promptly**Rigging & Setup*** Use rigging equipment such as hoists, slings, and cranes to safely lift and position castings* Set up castings in welding fixtures to ensure proper orientation, stability, and access**Surface Preparation*** Clean and prep welding surfaces by drilling, grinding, and removing contaminants* Safely operate welding machines, grinders, and saws**Safety & Compliance*** Wear appropriate PPE: welding helmet, safety glasses, leather gloves, welding jacket, steel toe boots* Adhere to safety procedures for welding in high-heat, metalworking environments* Handle aluminum dust and fumes in compliance with health and environmental standards**Education and Experience:*** High school diploma, GED or equivalent.
