Job summary

Commercial Metals LTD is seeking a hardworking individual to join our team in Maryland. The role involves operating the wire mesh rolling machine, welding cages, assembling with spacers, and performing strenuous manual tasks to support production of reinforced concrete components.

You will work in a hands-on environment, lifting heavy objects, standing for long periods, and following written and verbal instructions with a strong emphasis on safety and quality.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Willingness to perform manual work.
• Ability to lift heavy objects and stand for long periods.
• Able to follow verbal and written instructions.
• Ability to work safely and cooperatively.

Responsibilities

• Operate the wire mesh rolling machine.
• Weld the rolled cages together.
• Assemble cages with spacers.
• Perform a variety of tasks involving strenuous manual labor.
• Place reinforcement cages for production.
• Patch finished concrete product.
• Help with cleanup procedure.
• Maintain a clean work area and secure tools daily.
• Material handling and storage.
• Follow safety and incident reporting procedures.

What You'll Do

• Some knowledge of proper use of equipment, materials and supplies used in concrete finishing.
• Knowledge of applicable safety precautions.

• Ability to lift heavy objects, walk and stand for long periods of time and perform strenuous physical labor.
• Ability to communicate orally.
• Ability to use equipment and tools properly and safely.
• Ability to understand, follow and transmit written and oral instructions.
• Ability to meet attendance schedule with dependability and consistency.

Qualifications

• Any combination of education and experience that demonstrates the knowledge and ability to perform work.
• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
