THIS POSITION IS LOCATED IN JACKSONVILLE, FLORIDA

Program Summary

The Marine Corps Prepositioning Program (MCPP) is based in Jacksonville, Florida. We provide maintenance and logistic services to the U.S. Marine Corps (USMC) in support of this program. For over 35 years we have planned, coordinated, and executed the maintenance and logistic services for ground combat vehicles and support equipment for USMC Expeditionary Forces.

Job Summary

  • Manufactures, repairs, modifies, rebuilds, and assembles various types of metal and alloy parts, equipment, systems, and structures, while under minimal supervision.

  • Provides technical assistance, guidance, or training to lower-level welders and assists higher level welders.

  • Perform other tasks as assigned.

Basic Qualifications

  • High school graduate or equivalent.

  • 8 years directly related work experience.

  • Completion of a welding apprenticeship.

  • Complete the Basic Metal Workers Course, or equivalent.

  • In lieu of a formal apprenticeship program, a combination of on-the-job training and experience may be considered.

  • Requires a working knowledge of electric gas and other welding processes such as electron beam welding.

  • Ability to apply skills in using jigs and fixtures and in clamping pieces together to assemble and set-up parts to be welded.

  • Must be certified in GMAW steel and aluminum and SMAW using E7018 in accordance with American Welding Society D1.1 and D1.3.

  • Must be capable of wearing respirators.

  • Must be able to lift, unaided, 50 pounds.

  • Possess a valid State Motor Vehicle Operator.

  • Ability to comply with all established methods, safety standards, quality standards, and time schedules applicable to this position.

  • U.S. Citizen.

  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Common Access Card (CAC) and Base Access.
