Job description

We are now hiring Welders in our Houston, TX manufacturing plant.

Our welders get to see the products they’ve built on waterways across the country. As a Welder at Arcosa, you’ll apply appropriate welding processes to join, surface, fabricate, and repair parts of metal or other weldable materials according to layouts, work orders, blueprints, schematics, and sketches using manual, auto welding, and/or semi-automatic welding equipment.

What You’ll Do:

• Follow Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS)
• Proficiently perform flat (1F), horizontal (2F), vertical (3F), and overhead (4F) fillet welds
• Inspect your own welds to ensure all quality requirements are met
• Follow all safety rules and practices
• Participate in safety committees or initiatives as needed
• Perform other duties as assigned

What You’ll Need:

• Minimum of 1 year FCAW (flux-core weld) experience
• Ability to pass vertical fillet and overhead fillet weld tests using FCAW-G
• Understanding of weld size requirements and quality acceptance criteria
• Ability to perform welding while wearing all required personal protective equipment, including a filtering face piece and/or tight-fitting respirator
• Willingness to work above ground (15 ft or more)
• Ability to climb ladders or stairs to reach objects; comfortable working at heights
• Capacity to work in narrow or confined spaces for extended periods
• Willingness to perform extensive kneeling, bending, walking, and standing for long durations
• Metatarsal steel toe boots are required at the time of hire
