Job summary

Gorbel in Goodyear, AZ is seeking skilled welders to join a growing manufacturing team. You will design, cut and permanently join metal parts, using SMAW, GMAW and related processes, to match documentation and drawings.

Responsibilities include setup and maintenance of welding tools, safe operation of cranes, and accurate documentation. The ideal candidate has a high school diploma or trade-related certificate, can read blueprints and tape measures, and can pass AWS D14.1 testing.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or Trade School Certificate or equivalent.
  • Experience with SMAW, MCAW, GMAW and spray arc welding.
  • Able to pass AWS D14.1 certification test.
  • Ability to read tape measures and blueprints.
  • Capable of forklift operation and basic tool handling.
  • Effective communication with supervision.

Responsibilities

  • Produce weldments to documentation using prints and job paperwork.
  • Weld various grades of carbon steel, stainless steel and aluminum.
  • Layout and fabricate parts to drawings.
  • Use oxy-acetylene torches, plasma cutters and other fabrication tools as needed.
  • Set up, operate and maintain weld tools and equipment.
  • Perform SMAW, MCAW, GMAW and spray arc welding as specified.
  • Fit assemblies to ensure accuracy and quality control.
  • Operate overhead cranes and other shop equipment safely.
  • Complete required documentation and reports.
  • Other duties as assigned by management.
