Job summary

Arcosa, Inc. is seeking a skilled welder to join our team in a hands-on fabrication role. You will perform welding on steel components, read and follow drawings and work orders, and operate related shop machinery.

We value safety, reliability, and the ability to work effectively with a team. The role involves outdoor work, exposure to noise, and physical requirements consistent with welding tasks.

Qualifications

• Welding certification is required.
• Some welding experience is preferred.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Must be 18 years of age.

Responsibilities

• Perform welding duties using a wire/gas welder.
• Weld steel components per drawings, work orders or verbal instructions.
• Operate machinery, hoists, hand tools, and related equipment.
• Inspect welds and correct as needed to meet specs.
• Read and follow job orders, drawings, or instructions.
• Cross-train and perform other duties as needed.
• Inspect equipment and report repairs to maintain safety and reliability.
• Work on heavy equipment as required.

What you'll do:

• Perform welding duties using a wire/gas welder
• Weld steel components with welding equipment as specified in drawings, work orders or verbal instructions
• Operates machinery, hoists, hand power tools, slings, grinders, cutting torch, and other hand tools related to the job’s needs
• Inspect and correct welds as necessary to meet product specifications
• Read, understand, and follow job order specifications, drawings or work orders
• Willingness to cross-train and perform the work of other jobs as needed
• Inspect equipment to maintain functional equipment and notifying supervisor if any equipment needs repairs
• Willing and able to work on heavy equipment

What you'll need:

• Welding certification required
• Some experience preferred
• Strong communication skills, written and verbal
• Must be 18 years of age

Working Conditions:

• Works outdoors in all climates.
• Exposed to loud noise, dusty environment.
• Able to climb and work 80 feet or higher, and to stoop, bend or kneel in the review and inspection of plant operations and equipment.
• Able to lift and carry 50 pounds.
• Full mobility of hands
• Required to wear safety equipment including hard hat, safety glasses, goggles, leather work shoes, hearing protectors, respirator, gloves and other safety equipment that may be required for the project.
