Job summary

Arcosa Inc. is seeking a skilled welder to perform welding duties using wire/gas welders and to weld steel components per drawings and work orders. You will operate machinery, hand tools, and inspect welds to ensure they meet specifications, while following job orders and instructions.

Cross-training and mobility to handle other tasks in the plant will be encouraged for career growth. The role requires welding certification, good communication skills, and the ability to work outdoors in all

Qualifications

• Welding certification required.
• Some experience preferred.
• Strong communication skills, written and verbal.
• Must be 18 years of age.

Responsibilities

• Perform welding duties using a wire/gas welder.
• Weld steel components with welding equipment as specified in drawings, work orders or verbal instructions.
• Operates machinery, hoists, hand power tools, slings, grinders, cutting torch, and other hand tools related to the job’s needs.
• Inspect and correct welds as necessary to meet product specifications.
• Read, understand, and follow job order specifications, drawings or work orders.
• Willingness to cross-train and perform the work of other jobs as needed.
• Inspect equipment to maintain functional equipment and notifying supervisor if any equipment needs repairs.
• Willing and able to work on heavy equipment.

What You’ll Do

Working Conditions

• Works outdoors in all climates.
• Exposed to loud noise, dusty environment.
• Able to climb and work 80 feet or higher, and to stoop, bend or kneel in the review and inspection of plant operations and equipment.
• Able to lift and carry 50 pounds.
• Full mobility of hands
• Required to wear safety equipment including hard hat, safety glasses, goggles, leather work shoes, hearing protectors, respirator, gloves and other safety equipment that may be required for the project.
