FurstStaffing in Freeport, IL seeks experienced welders for MIG and TIG on the shop floor. First shift is 6am-3pm Monday-Thursday, 6am-2pm Friday, with two Saturdays per month. Starting pay is $17/hour with raises after 30 days.
The role requires setting up welding machines, reading drawings, and welding aluminum, stainless, and carbon steel. Calipers, tape measures and angle gauges are used, and strong math skills are needed to convert decimals to fractions.

Set up and operate welding machines based on shop floor jobs and welding specifications
Read and interpret drawings and prints to determine the specific welding requirements
Weld in at least one of the following materials: aluminum, stainless steel and carbon steel using both MIG and TIG equipment and processes
Calculate and use charts to convert decimals to fractions and use calipers, tape measures and angle gauges
Set up weld cells for production runs
Previous welding experience using MIG and TIG
Ability to use calipers, tape measures and angle gauges
Strong math skills to convert decimals to fractions
