Job summary

Kids for the Future is seeking a skilled welder to fabricate and assemble metal structures at our Fort Mill, SC facility. The role requires experience with welders, cutters, and shapers, and the ability to read blueprints.

You will set up and operate fabricating machines, develop layouts, and verify conformance to specifications, while maintaining safety and quality. Periodic travel may be required and you must be legally able to work in the US.

Responsibilities

• Fabricate and assemble metal structures and products using welders, cutters and shapers.
• Certified Welder, Flux Core: flat, vertical, overhead.
• Fabricate and assemble Overhead Bridge Cranes per job orders and blueprints.
• Develop layouts and sequences using trigonometry, material thickness, shrinkage, and metal properties.
• Set up and operate fabricating machines (welders, punches, flame cutters, drill presses).
• Design and construct templates and fixtures; verify conformance to specifications.
• Work in confined spaces and complete paperwork accurately and on time.
• Standing, bending, climbing, and working in tight spaces for long periods.

Position Responsibilities

• Primary function is to fabricate and assemble metal structures and products through the use of welders, cutters, and shapers


• Certified Welder, Flux Core: flat, vertical, and overhead.


• Fabricate and assemble Overhead Bridge Cranes according to job order, verbal instructions, and blueprints.


• Develop layout and plans sequence of operations, applying knowledge of trigonometry, stock allowances for thickness, machine and welding shrinkage, and physical properties of metal.


• Set up and operate fabricating machines, such as welders, punches, flame cutters, and drill presses.


• Ability to design and construct templates and fixtures.


• Ability to verify conformance of work piece to specifications


• Ability to work in confined spaces.


• Complete required paperwork accurately and on time.


• Standing, stooping, bending, climbing, crawling, working at odd angles, and working in tight spaces for long periods of time.
