Mobile Modular Management Corporation - A Division of McGrath in Florida is seeking a Welder to join the team. You will fabricate, weld, and repair metal components, interpreting blueprints and specifications to determine the correct welding process and ensuring weld integrity and code compliance.

You will maintain equipment and tools, perform on-site repairs as needed, and adhere to safety standards in a dynamic construction environment.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of codes and industry standards applicable to welding work.
• Ability to read and interpret floor plans, blueprints, and work orders.
• Ability to perform material and labor takeoffs from blueprints.
• Ability to perform precise mathematical calculations for dimensions and specs.
• Commitment to safety and maintain current certifications.

Responsibilities

• Join, fabricate, and repair metal using appropriate welding techniques.
• Interpret blueprints and schematics to determine welding processes.
• Inspect welds for structural soundness and code compliance.
• Maintain welding equipment, tools, and workspace in order.
• Troubleshoot and perform repairs at customer sites when required.

\"A Day in the Life\"

As a Welder you will join, fabricate, and repair metal and other weldable material by applying appropriate welding techniques. You will interpret blueprints, specifications, diagrams or schematics to determine appropriate welding process. You will also inspect completed welds to determine structural soundness. Working individually, you will inspect welding work of others to ensure completeness of work and code compliance.

\"What You\'ll Do\"

• Join, fabricate, and repair metal and other weldable material by applying appropriate welding technique
• Interpret blueprints, specifications, diagrams or schematics to determine appropriate welding process
• Inspect completed welds to determine structural soundness
• Inspect, repairs, installs, modifies, and performs welds, and maintains welding equipment
• Maintain inventory, tools, supplies and work area in an organized manner
• May be required to perform troubleshooting and repairs at customer's site
• Operate both plasma and flame cutting torch
• Perform other duties as assigned

• Knowledge of codes and industry standards applicable to work performed
• Good at establishing clear directions and lays out work in a well-planned and organized manner. Monitors process, progress and results.
• Be able to read and understand floor plans and work orders for projects
• Ability to complete material and labor take offs from blue prints required.
• Ability to use mathematics to calculate length, width, depth, etc. as it relates to construction and accuracy of specs and requirements
• Ability to follow written and spoken instruction
• Ability to safely perform tasks
• Maintains current certification through industry standard agency or process
• Prior experience in the construction industry performing welding and commercial welding new construction and remodel construction required

• Able to read Company's construction documents and provide guidance to construction team to complete necessary work
• Knowledge of LEAN construction a plus

Physical Requirements & Role Expectations

• Ability to work in indoor and outdoor environments and tolerate varying weather, temperatures, and job site conditions.
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, kneel, squat, twist, and reach throughout the workday.
• Ability to regularly lift, carry, push, pull, and move materials, tools, equipment, and supplies weighing up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to climb ladders and safely navigate modular buildings, storage/office containers, inventory yards, storage areas, and work sites.
• Ability to perform physical activities for extended periods, including walking, inspecting equipment, reviewing inventory assets, and performing hands-on tasks.
• Sufficient manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination to safely and effectively operate tools, equipment, computers, tablets, and mobile devices.
• Ability to visually inspect modular buildings, inventory assets, labels, equipment, and documentation to identify discrepancies, damage, or quality concerns.
