Job summary

Mobile Modular Management Corporation - A Division of McGrath is seeking a General Construction Laborer to handle maintenance, cleaning, and construction tasks for preparing modular buildings for delivery to sites.

You will install fixtures, perform repairs across trades, remodel, and assist with layout and measurements while adhering to safety policies. The role runs Monday–Friday from 7:00am to 3:30pm and offers a structured environment with opportunities to grow.

Responsibilities

• Install structures or fixtures (windows, doors, frames, flooring, trim) per plans and building codes
• Perform maintenance, repairs, and construction in plumbing, carpentry, painting, flooring, ceiling and electrical areas
• Carry out remodeling/modification of modular buildings
• Demolish/replace walls including framing and drywall
• Light electrical work: bulbs, wiring, switches, outlets
• Light plumbing work: install/modify pipes and fixtures
• General cleaning and prep of units
• Shape/cut materials to specified measurements
• Participate in 6S and Lean initiatives
• Monday-Friday 7:00am-3:30pm
• Performs other duties as assigned

A Day in the Life

As a General Construction Laborer, you will be responsible for general maintenance, cleaning, general construction, remodeling work and preparation of buildings for delivery to customer sites.

What You'll Do

• Installation of structures or fixtures such as windows, doors, frames, floorings, trim or hardware using hand or power tools per plan, drawings and to current relevant building code
• Perform maintenance service, repairs and construction in the areas of plumbing, carpentry, painting, flooring, ceiling and electrical and other specialties
• Perform construction work related to remodeling or modifying modular buildings
• Demolish, replace or construct walls, including framing, drywall and other finish-out functions
• Light electrical work; changing bulbs, rewiring or adjusting wiring within a frame or wiring for new connections, switches and outlets
• Light plumbing work; removing, remodeling or installing new plumbing pipes and fixtures
• General cleaning, scrubbing, and mopping of units
• Shape or cut materials to specified measurements as noted on building plans or reasonably implied
• Participate in and practice 6S and Lean company initiative in the workplace
• Monday-Friday 7:00am-3:30pm
• Performs other duties as assigned

Must Haves

• Prior experience in construction or related work required
• Ability to use both manual and power tools and follow operating guidelines
• Ability to use mathematics to calculate length, width, depth, etc. as it relates to construction and accuracy of specs and requirements
• Ability to follow spoken and written instruction and work in fast paced construction environment with minimal guidance from leads or supervisors
• Ability to safely perform all tasks and understand Company's safety policies and procedures
• Deliver a high-quality output consistent with the Company's construction standards
• Able to take, record and follow standard measurements and cut or separate materials to specific measurements or quantities
• Position requires manual dexterity and the ability to maintain physical activity for most of the day
• Valid Drivers License

Nice to Haves

• Bilingual in Spanish a plus
• Carpentry, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, VCT flooring or other specialties a plus

Physical Requirements & Role Expectations

• Ability to work in indoor and outdoor environments and tolerate varying weather, temperatures, and job site conditions.
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, kneel, squat, twist, and reach throughout the workday.
• Ability to regularly lift, carry, push, pull, and move materials, tools, equipment, and supplies weighing up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to climb ladders and safely navigate modular buildings, storage/office containers, inventory yards, storage areas, and work sites.
• Ability to perform physical activities for extended periods, including walking, inspecting equipment, reviewing inventory assets, and performing hands-on tasks.
• Sufficient manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination to safely and effectively operate tools, equipment, computers, tablets, and mobile devices.
• Ability to visually inspect modular buildings, inventory assets, labels, equipment, and documentation to identify discrepancies, damage, or quality concerns.
