The Steamship Authority is seeking a Welder to support the Maintenance Department in fabricating, repairing, and renewing marine and shore-based components. The role involves welding various materials aboard vessels, in drydock, dockside, and in Authority facilities, with adherence to safety and regulatory standards.
Essential duties include welding, cutting, layout, and fabrication, reading drawings and weld symbols, and maintaining equipment.
The Steamship Authority is currently accepting applications to fill a Welder position within the Maintenance Department. This is a union position and the hourly rate is $40.80,
In a safe, efficient, and professional manner, the Welder will support the maintenance team in the fabrication, repair, and renewal of marine and shore-based structural and mechanical components. Duties include, but are not limited to, layout, fitting, welding, cutting, and fabrication of steel, aluminum, stainless steel, and copper-nickel components on board vessels, in drydock, dockside, and within Authority maintenance facilities and terminals.
Maintenance employees must adhere to all health, safety, quality, and environmental standards as set by the HSQE Manager and applicable regulatory agencies. Work is performed in accordance with applicable ABS, USCG, and industry standards as required.
