Description

The candidate will weld parts to specifications using PTA or manual welding processes such as TIG or SMAW. Responsibilities include performing minor repairs or maintenance on shop equipment, deburring parts, preparing stock, assembling parts as needed, and maintaining organized records of all weld processes and procedures. The role also involves planning workloads to align with stress relief and other processes.

Shift

Monday - Thursday, 6:00am - 4:30pm, with overtime on Friday and/or Saturday if needed

Duties & Responsibilities

• Perform PTA welding and use various welding processes to weld parts to print specifications
• Understand welding practices and theory
• Deburr parts with hand tools
• Assemble valve components using liquid nitrogen
• Maintain stress relief processes and stock preparation
• Maintain welding equipment and shop machinery
• Order gases and welding consumables

Requirements

• High School Diploma or Equivalent
• 3-5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment
• Ability to anticipate changes relevant to the area of responsibility
• Organizational skills to ensure efficient operations
• Clear communication skills
• Proficiency in reading measuring tools, calipers, tapes, and weld gauges
• Good organizational skills
• Understanding of lean principles and 6S safety standards
• Basic computer skills
• Stellite welding experience (preferred)
• Plasma Transferred Arc Welding experience (preferred)
