Job description

Welder Summary:

Under the direct supervision of the department supervisor in a manufacturing environment, an individual will MIG weld aluminum trailers.

Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will be self-motivated and able to work in a team environment. Candidates should be able to read and understand work orders, use measuring devices like tape measures, and have a reliable work history with good attendance. The candidate must successfully complete the Physical Capacity Profile (PCP) to the required standard and pass a pre-employment drug screen.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Use a MIG welder to build and prepare aluminum trailers according to drawings, in setup, middle, and finishing capacities.
• Pay attention to detail.
• Follow checklists, master patterns, and prints.
• Perform all work safely, adhering to Aluma’s safety policies.
• Maintain quality standards, including recognizing and correcting parts issues and defects.

Physical Demands:

The physical demands are representative of those required to perform the essential functions of the job:

• Lift up to 50 lbs. occasionally.
• Lift 25-50 lbs. force frequently and 10-20 lbs. consistently.
• Stand and walk for up to 10 hours.
• Use hands to handle or feel, and perform stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling, with the use of a steel stool if needed.
• Reach with hands and arms frequently.
• Specific vision abilities include close, distance, depth, and peripheral vision.
