Primary Function
- Perform welding processes and procedures.
- Possess and demonstrate understanding of welding equipment and accessories.
- Manually TIG weld dissimilar metals, such as cupronickel to stainless and stainless to stainless.
- Maintain weld quality and characteristics.
- Use basic fixtures and hand tools accurately and efficiently.
- Produce quality welds using TIG and MIG processes.
- Identify and correct basic issues affecting weld quality.
- Operate required machinery in the department.
- Work at the highest level of competence and expedience.
- Conscientious of product quality and productivity to promote growth.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Ensure good quality welding practices.
- Inspect completed product to meet all quality standards and specifications.
- Communicate with fellow workers and supervisors to maintain safety and quality.
- Suggest production and quality improvement ideas to the supervisor.
- Maintain tools and equipment in good working order.
- Maintain housekeeping in assigned work areas.
- Follow safety policies and procedures and wear all required PPE.
- Read blueprints.
- Complete tasks in a timely manner as determined by departmental goals.
- Work as part of a team to accomplish departmental goals and standards.
Technical Expertise
- Proper welding practices and procedures.
- Identify and correct basic weld quality issues.
- Setup computerized machines.
- Operate bending, flaring, and shaping equipment.
Reporting To
Production Supervisor
Education / Experience
- High School Diploma or GED with technical training.
- Ability to operate bending, welding, and punching equipment.
- Welding ASME certification.
- Flexible work schedule as required.
- Effective communication and interaction skills.
- Minimum one (1) year welding experience of similar and bi‑metal conditions.
- All qualified candidates will be required to perform a welding test.

- Reasoning ability – ability to define problems.
- Physical demands – reach, use arms, hands, fingers, hearing, and smell.
- Weight limit – up to 50 lbs.
- Vision requirements – distance, color, peripheral, depth perception; can adjust focus.
- Work environment – moderate noise; temperatures ranging very cold to very hot; exposure to fumes and airborne particles; electric, gas, vibrating equipment.
- Personal protective equipment – ability to wear safety glasses, welding helmet, gloves, etc., as required.
- Work schedule – various shifts and overtime as needed.
