Job summary

Loenbro is looking for experienced welders to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in welding, enabling them to efficiently complete customer projects on time and within budget.

This position will plan, layout, weld, install, evaluate, and repair all types of steel structures and piping. Work must be in accordance with applicable plans, specifications, welding codes, and industry standards.

Qualifications

  • 2+ years welding principles experience required.
  • OSHA 10 certification preferred.
  • At least one certification in GMAW, FCAW, or GTAW welding techniques.
  • Prior welding experience in construction, mining, or related industry or a two-year vocational–technical degree preferred.
  • Working knowledge of various welding codes and specifications.
  • Proficiency in SMAW, FCAW, and GMAW; other processes include Oxy-Fuel Welding and Cutting.

Responsibilities

  • Perform GMAW Section IX welding (B31.1/3/4/8) in both roll and position configurations.
  • Utilize Pulse Arc welding with a 75/25 and/or 85/15 gas mix.
  • Fit up pipes ranging from 2” to 20”.
  • Perform 100% Radiographic Testing (RT) with Magnetic Particle Testing (MT).
  • Perform welding tasks for both new construction and maintenance/repair work on industrial projects.
  • Supervise and train welder helpers.
  • Develop a complete understanding of contract plans and specifications, and plan, lay‑out, install, and/or repair for all types of structures in accordance with those plans and specifications.
  • Examine and inspect field conditions to identify problems, inaccuracies, and cost-saving measures that arise or may occur.
  • Choose filler metals and construction materials to complete assignments.
  • Observe functioning of installed equipment or systems to determine hazards and need for adjustments, relocation, or replacement.
  • Produce quality work, meeting requirements of plans, specifications, and industry standards.
  • Work efficiently, productively, and safely at all times.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.

Job Summary

Minimum Qualifications
  • Minimum of 2 years of welding principles experience required.
  • OSHA 10 certification preferred.
  • At least one certification in GMAW, FCAW, or GTAW welding techniques.
  • Prior welding experience in construction, mining, or related industry or a two‑year vocational–technical degree preferred.
  • Working knowledge of various welding codes and specifications.
  • Familiarity with properties of metal machining, weld shrinkage, and welding techniques.
  • Proficiency in commonly used welding processes, including SMAW, FCAW, and GMAW; other processes utilized are Oxy‑Fuel Welding and Cutting.
