Job summary

NEFCO in Canton, MA is seeking a Welder to operate fabricating machines such as cutoff saws, punches, and brakes to cut, shape and assemble metal components.

You will read blueprints, set up equipment, monitor quality, and maintain safe work habits while meeting production demands.

Qualifications

• Must pass a Tape Measure Test.
• Ability to read blueprints/plans for material needs.
• Basic computer skills (Word/Excel/Outlook) a plus.
• Positive, hard-working attitude and reliability.
• Ability to work independently with little supervision.
• Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Must stand on concrete floors for long periods.
• Able to work in varying climate conditions (cold, heat, humidity).

• Analytical ability including basic math.

Responsibilities

Description

Job Summary: The Welder operates fabricating machines such as cutoff saws and punches that cut, shape and bend metal plates, sheets, tubes, strut channel and structures by performing the following duties below.

Job Duties

• Read and understand blueprints/plans to determine the kind and quality of materials needed
• Set up and operate fabricating machines (such as brakes, rolls, grinders, and drill presses) to bend, cut, form, punch, drill, or otherwise form and assemble metal components
• Observe strict safe work habits
• Should be familiar with the following:
• Hydraulic press brakes
• Plasma cutters
• Punches
• Rollers

Details

• Monday – Friday
• Typically, 40 hours (OT available depending on NEFCO needs)
• Start time is flexible and can be anywhere from 6:00AM to 7:00AM. End time will adjust accordingly between 3:30PM and 4:00PM.

Requirements

• High school diploma (or equivalent)
• Ability to use NEFCO's ERP software system
• Must pass a Tape Measure Test
• Ability to use warehouse layouts for planning purposes
• Basic knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, or Outlook a plus
• Basic computer skills

• Ability to stands on concrete floor for long periods of time
