Aerotek is seeking an experienced MIG Welder for a lift assist table project in Auburn Hills, MI. The role focuses on welding 3/16" to 1/4" cold rolled steel components and assembling table parts in a clean machine shop under an evening shift schedule.

You will set up, operate, and adjust MIG equipment, inspect welds, and follow safety procedures to ensure high-quality, durable welds. The contract position offers benefits and stable hours in a production environment.

Qualifications

• 6 months MIG welding experience (school or on-the-job)
• Proficiency in MIG welding on cold rolled steel
• Ability to weld 3/16" to 1/4" steel with consistent quality
• Experience in a production or shop environment
• Ability to read and follow basic instructions, work orders, or weld specifications
• Strong attention to detail and focus on weld quality and safety
• Reliability to work 6 pm to 2 am shift for 40 hours/week
• Use of welding helmet and adherence to welding safety practices

Work Environment

The role is based in a 20-year-old machine shop facility that is kept in immaculate condition for its industry. You will work in a clean yet authentically industrial environment where it is normal to get dirty and to be around louder machinery. The position follows a 6 pm to 2 am Monday–Friday shift, totaling 40 hours per week over an 8-week project. Standard welding attire is required, including a welding helmet and appropriate protective clothing suitable for a steel-focused machine shop.

This is a Contract position based out of Auburn Hills, MI.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $22.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
