Job summary

ResourceMFG in Abernathy, TX seeks an experienced welder to read blueprints, prepare materials, and perform MIG, TIG, or Stick welding on structural and production parts.

You will align and fixture components, operate grinders and plasma cutters, and ensure compliance with OSHA PPE rules while maintaining a clean work area. A 1+ year background in metal fabrication is preferred.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of hands-on experience in metal fabrication, manufacturing, or shop welding environments.
• Proficiency in MIG, TIG, and/or Stick welding techniques.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, weld symbols, and technical schematics.
• Familiarity with shop tools (grinders, band saws, drill presses, plasma cutters, and overhead cranes).

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, schematics, and work orders to determine dimensions, materials, and welding sequences.
• Measure, mark, cut, bend, and shape raw metals using saws, torches, plasma cutters, and grinders.
• Align, clamp, tack-weld, and fixture metal parts together to ensure accurate geometry before final welding.
• Perform high-quality structural and production welds using MIG (GMAW), TIG (GTAW), Stick (SMAW), or Flux-Cored/Dual Shield depending on shop needs.
• Perform routine checks and light maintenance on welding machines, gas torches, power tools, and shop equipment.
• Adhere to OSHA safety guidelines, wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), and maintain a clean, organized work area.
