Job summary

Key Technology is seeking a Team Lead for the Weld Department to assist the Production Manager by prioritizing work per the schedule and ensuring quality standards are met. The role requires leadership to guide a team and adherence to safety policies on the shop floor.

The position involves reading engineering drawings, coordinating with Engineering to resolve issues, and maintaining 6S practices. A High School Diploma or GED with 3–6 years of related experience is expected.

As the Team Lead in the Weld Department, you will assist the area Production Manager by ensuring the work is loaded and prioritized per the schedule, that completed work meets established quality standards and that work place rules are being followed.

Essential Responsibilites

• At all times safety is the top priority while performing any part of your job.
• Ensure that all established safety and company policies are being followed. Communicate and issues with the area manager.
• Execute verbal/written instructions provided by the supervisor.
• Provide guidance and/or training to new employees as needed.
• Read and understand engineering drawings.
• Load work to the appropriate areas as needed to support production flow.
• Understand the operation of equipment and work performed in the area. Occasional operation of equipment or completion of work within the area may be required.
• Ensure that work is being completed per the appropriate engineering drawing and/or work instruction and in the order identified by the production schedule or communicated priority.
• Request kits from the stockroom and/or issue parts as needed.
• Interface with Engineering to resolve drawing issues.
• Assume the area Supervisor/Managers authority and responsibility for carrying out daily activities on the occasions that the Supervisor/Manger is not present.
• Obtain and maintain fork lift certification.
• Verify that operator preventative maintenance has been completed accurately and on time.
• Ensure that 6S activities are performed as required
• Regularly verify that calibrated measure devices and/or equipment are up to date
• Trained in first aid and CPR
• Other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION And/or EXPERIENCE

• High School Diploma or GED and Three to six years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
