Job summary

Challenge Manufacturing in Northlake, TX is seeking a skilled Machinist to set up and run precision machine tools for welding applications. You will read blueprints, measure parts with gauges, and adjust fixtures for complex assemblies.

The role requires welding proficiency (MIG/TIG) and the ability to drive continuous improvements. You’ll work a first shift from 5:00 AM to 3:30 PM, Monday through Friday, at our Northlake plant.

Qualifications

• Requires high school diploma or GED; two-year college/technical school degree preferred.
• Two+ years machinist experience required.
• Proficiency in MIG, TIG welding and brazing applications is desired.
• Ability to read blueprints and use measuring tools for quality checks.

Responsibilities

• Set up, adjust, and operate basic and advanced machine tools for precision machining.
• Verify conformance of parts with measurement tools and gauges.
• Perform advanced weld fixture adjustments for complex systems.
• Study blueprints and engineering data to determine methods and sequences.
• Select tools, machines, and materials; mark and measure dimensions for guidance.
• Drive continuous improvement and assist with process/tool/equipment enhancements.
• Manage work orders in Plex and coordinate with engineering/production to resolve issues.
