Job summary

PJ Trailers in Sumner is seeking a Weld Technician with a strong background in weld audits and leadership of welding teams. The role involves auditing weld lines, coaching welders and leads, and maintaining welding equipment to standard.

The candidate will document non-conforming welds, coordinate with QC inspectors, and verify welder settings and gas mixes to ensure weld integrity. AWS certification is preferred; minimum 5 years welding with 2-3 years supervisory experience is expected.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years welding experience.
• 2-3 years of supervisor and training experience.
• AWS certification preferred.
• Audits welds 2x daily and documents findings.
• Reviews prints/weld maps and ensures weld integrity.

Responsibilities

• Audit structural and A surface welds 2x per day on every weld line.
• Correct and coach as needed, welders and leads.
• Document any non-conforming welds into a daily audit report to be submitted to the Quality, Production and Plant managers.
• Communicate with QC inspectors to solve any weld issues coming through finish.
• Welding Equipment—Verify welder settings per standard; check gas mixes; troubleshoot equipment issues.
