Job summary

Big Tex Trailers is seeking a Weld Supervisor to lead a team of welders, ensuring safe, high‑quality trailer production and meeting daily goals. You will coach welders, monitor performance, and enforce engineering specifications with a focus on safety and continuous improvement.

You will read blueprints, resolve production issues, and collaborate with Quality and Maintenance to optimize throughput and product quality. A strong welding background and leadership experience are essential.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Minimum 5 years welding experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Minimum 2 years of supervisory experience preferred.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and weld symbols.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and lead daily welding operations to meet production schedules.
  • Train, coach, and develop welders on safety, quality, and welding techniques.
  • Monitor employee performance and hold team members accountable for attendance, productivity, and quality.
  • Ensure all welds meet engineering specifications and company quality standards.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, weld symbols, and work instructions.
  • Assist with welding and fabrication as needed to support production.
  • Identify and resolve production, quality, and equipment issues.
  • Promote and enforce all safety policies and procedures.
  • Work closely with Production, Quality, and Maintenance teams to improve efficiency and achieve production goals.

Position SummaryThe Weld Supervisor is responsible for leading a team of welders to safely produce high-quality trailers while meeting daily production goals.
