Job summary

PJ Trailers in Sumner, TX is seeking a skilled Weld Technician to audit and optimize welded structures on production lines, ensuring compliance with quality and safety standards.

Responsibilities include conducting weld audits, coaching welders, documenting non-conformities, communicating with QC, verifying settings, gas mixes, and tooling, troubleshooting equipment, and reviewing prints. AWS certification preferred; 5+ years welding; 2–3 years supervisory experience.

Qualifications

• AWS certification preferred.
• Minimum 5 years welding experience.
• 2–3 years supervisory or lead experience.

Responsibilities

• Audit structural and A-surface welds 2x per day and coach as needed.
• Document non-conforming welds in daily audit reports.
• Communicate with QC inspectors to resolve weld issues.
• Verify welder settings and gas mixes; troubleshoot equipment.
• Review prints/weld maps and audit PPE and body placement.
