Job summary

American Trailer World (ATW) in Sumner, IA, is seeking a Robotic Weld Operator to load, weld, and unload trailer sub-assemblies with precision, while strictly following safety rules. You will verify part orientation, operate weld tooling, and transfer finished parts to paint and assembly stages.

The ideal candidate has 2–5 years of manufacturing experience, a high school diploma or GED, and a mindset for problem-solving, maintenance, and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED preferred.
• 2-5 years in a manufacturing environment operating industrial machinery.
• Experience performing routine maintenance on machinery in a manufacturing setting.
• Exposure to a disciplined problem-solving format desirable.

Responsibilities

• Follow all defined Safety Requirements for the robotic Work-cell.
• Be responsible for personal safety and the safety of others.
• Manufacture high-quality products and stop the process if issues arise; notify the Team Leader immediately.
• Maintain order and cleanliness within the robotic work-cell.
• Follow prescribed Standard Work to achieve target cycle times.
• Continuously identify opportunities for improvement within the work-cell.
• Perform assigned preventative maintenance on the robotic work-cell as scheduled.
• Facilitate effective hand-offs to incoming shift peers with clear communication of issues and actions.
• Participate in formal problem-solving when required.
• Cross-train on all robotic Weld Cells.
