Job summary

Confidential Employer in Albion, Michigan is seeking a Lead Weld Shop Supervisor to manage daily weld shop operations, production scheduling, and hands-on fabrication.

You will mentor welders, review fabrication drawings and welding symbols, ensure code compliance, and drive continuous improvement while collaborating with engineering, production and quality teams. Requirements: current CWI, 3+ years welding and metal fabrication, 1+ year supervision.

Qualifications

• Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) certification is required.
• 3+ years hands-on welding and metal fabrication experience.
• Minimum 1 year experience supervising a weld shop or welding team.
• Strong knowledge of welding codes, inspection standards, and quality requirements.
• Ability to read fabrication drawings, welding symbols, and specifications.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• SolidWorks knowledge or drawings review experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Drive continuous improvement initiatives throughout the weld shop.

Location:
Albion, Michigan – This is a full-time, on-site leadership role where you'll work closely with production, engineering, and quality teams in a collaborative manufacturing environment.
