Job summary

Challenge Manufacturing is hiring for a 2nd shift Weld Repair position at our Walker, MI plant. You will weld and repair sheet metal parts using MIG or TIG methods, calibrate welding equipment, and ensure parts are properly tagged and moved to the correct locations.

Safety procedures and teamwork are essential in daily operations. We require 3–5 years of welding experience, a high school diploma, and the ability to read, write, and understand English.

Responsibilities

• Operate a spot-welding machine to join or repair sheet metal/steel parts or components.

Challenge is *#QualityDriven and #PeoplePowered!* **Who We Want:**Repair parts/components that are non-conforming to customer specification by welding, grinding, or other methods as required.**What You'll Do:*** Operate a spot-welding machine to join or repair sheet metal/steel parts or components* Calibrate welding equipment* Maintain tools in good working order* Perform all work in accordance with established safety procedures* Tag parts* Move parts to correct location in the plant/facility* Participate in preventative actions where appropriate* Utilization of plexus (ERP system)* Conduct housekeeping for personal work area or shared facility space* Maintain welding equipment**When and Where:**This will be a **2nd****Shift / M-F 2:30PM-10:30PM** position located at our Plant in **Walker, MI**.Occasionally, this may require you to arrive early, stay late, or work on weekends, outside of our regular hours, to ensure we successfully meet customer needs, deadlines, or urgent requests.**What You Need to Have:*** High School Graduate or equivalent* Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English at a level sufficient to safely and effectively perform job duties, including following work instructions, safety procedures, and company communications.* 3-5 years in relevant work experience* Certified in MIG and/or TIG welding* Has high standards of performance for self. Takes responsibility for actions, results, and mistakes.
