Job summary

EPIC PIPING, LLC is seeking aQuality Assurance/Quality Control Inspector to ensure welds meet safety and quality standards. You will perform visual inspections, review welds for defects, and document all testing data while maintaining compliance with industry codes.

The role requires a welding inspector certification (AWS-CWI/SCWI 3.1/3.2) and ASNT VT Level II/III, with 2-3 years of related experience. Strong attention to detail and reliable communication are essential for success.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or 1-2 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 2-3 years related experience.
• Certified Welding Inspector AWS-CWI/SCWI 3.1/3.2
• ASNT VT Level II/III

Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with safety and environment guidelines, policies, and regulations.
• Perform visual inspections on welded products in progress and completed jobs.
• Inspect weld jobs for defects such as cracks, porosity, undercut etc.
• Record results of tests and welding inspections.
• Plan and conduct analysis, inspection, test, and/or integration to assure quality.
• Review weld products and provide input to accept or reject decisions.
• Document data from quality assurance activities per company policies.
• Communicate significant issues or developments identified during QA activities and recommend improvements.
• Maintain knowledge of government and industry QA codes and standards.
• Inspect, test, or measure materials, products, installations, or work for conformance to specifications.
• Measure dimensions using rulers, calipers, gauges, or micrometers.
• Read blueprints, data, manuals to determine specifications and procedures.
• Record inspection or test data and quantities inspected or graded.
• Mark items with grade or acceptance-rejection status.
• Notify supervisors of production problems.
• Discard or reject products not meeting specifications.
• Collect or select samples for testing or use as models.
• Write test or inspection reports describing results and recommendations.
• Compare colors, shapes, textures, or grades with color charts or templates to verify conformance.
