Job summary

Construction Material Testing is seeking a Certified Welding Inspector II to hold the accept/reject authority on structural steel, pipe, and fabrication welding. You will inspect to AWS D1.1, D1.5, D1.8, ASME IX, or API 1104 as required, witness weld tests, review WPS/PQR, and sign inspection reports relied on by engineers and officials.

Qualifications

• AWS CWI with 2+ years inspection experience.
• Proficient in AWS D1.1 and at least one of D1.5/D1.8/ASME IX/API 1104.
• ICC steel/bolting certification preferred; documentation for rejections.

Responsibilities

• Perform and sign visual weld inspection with accept/reject authority.
• Review WPS and PQR and welder qualification records.
• Witness welder qualification tests and direct NDT.
• Write nonconformance reports and repair instructions.
• Inspect fabrication shops and field erection, including bolting and grouting.
