Job summary

Construction Material Testing seeks a Senior Certified Welding Inspector III to lead welding quality programs, supervise CWIs and Inspectors, review procedures and welder qualifications, and interface with engineers, owners, and building officials on welding matters.

The role requires AWS SCWI or CWI with 8+ years of leadership, strong command of AWS D1.1/D1.5/D1.8, ASME IX, API 1104, and ability to audit fabricators and manage NDT procedures; travel may be required.

Qualifications

• AWS SCWI or current CWI with 8+ years of welding inspection including supervision of other inspectors
• Strong knowledge of welding codes and standards
• Ability to write and review welding quality plans and procedures

Responsibilities

• Write, review, and approve welding quality plans, procedures, and NDT procedures
• Supervise CWIs and Welding Inspectors across projects
• Audit fabricators and erectors' welding quality systems
• Review reports and calibrate calls, verify welder qualifications and PQRs
• Witness or direct procedure qualification testing
• Represent the company in welding quality reviews
