Job summary

AAON, Inc. in Redmond, WA is seeking an entry-level Welding Helper to assist welders with preparing materials, operating equipment, and maintaining a safe work environment. The base pay is $21.50 per hour.

You will support Welder I and II, prepare workpieces, set up equipment, and learn to read basic welding blueprints while following all safety procedures in a fast-paced manufacturing setting.

Qualifications

• No prior welding experience required; supports Welders I/II.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs and stand/sit for long periods.
• Ability to follow safety procedures and guidelines at all times.
• Seasonal hot/cold temperatures and dust exposure possible.

Responsibilities

• Assist Welder I/II with welding tasks as directed.
• Prepare workpieces for welding by cleaning, grinding, and scraping.

• Handle and store welding materials and tools properly.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities

• Assists Welder I and Welder II in various welding tasks as directed.
• Prepares workpieces for welding by cleaning, grinding, and scraping as necessary.
• Helps set up welding equipment and tools under supervision.
• Handles and stores welding materials and equipment properly.
• Operates power tools and hand tools under guidance.
• Reads and interprets basic welding blueprints and instructions.
• Assists in tack welding components together for final welding.
• Supports Welder I and Welder II in maintaining a safe and clean work environment.
• Learns and follows safety procedures and guidelines at all times.
• Assists in training and mentoring new helpers as needed.
