Ameritex is seeking a hardworking individual to join our team as a Weld Helper Level 1 – General Labor. This role provides support for welding operations through material handling, organization, cleaning, and basic grinding tasks. This position is ideal for someone interested in learning welding and fabrication.

We are looking for people with hustle – individuals who work hard, stay busy, and take initiative without waiting to be told.

Core Responsibilities

• Move raw steel, fixtures, and welded assemblies around the shop.
• Clean weld areas, sweep floors, and maintain workstations.
• Assist welders by staging material and pulling hardware.
• Perform basic grinding, wire brushing, and cleaning of welded parts under supervision.
• Help with packaging and transporting parts to and from welding areas.
• Follow shop safety rules including PPE requirements for welding environments.
• Must follow all safety rules, including required PPE for the work area, and be able to safely lift 50+ lbs repeatedly.

Skills & Requirements

• Willingness to do physical labor in a hot, fast-paced environment.
• Ability to repeatedly lift 50+ lbs safely.
• Dependable and safety-conscious.
• No prior welding experience required.

Advancement Path

• Demonstrate reliability, safe work practices, and support for welding team.
• After 6+ months, eligible for advancement to Weld Helper Level 2 with training in prep and inspection.

Compensation: $15–$17/hr
