KMC Stampings is a premier metal fabricator with a long history in southeastern Wisconsin. We are seeking a Weld Equipment Operator to safely operate resistance welding and assembly equipment to print.

The role requires basic math, reading prints, and ERP data entry, with opportunities to assist in setup and maintenance while complying with quality standards. Competitive benefits are provided.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED and 3–6 months of relevant manufacturing experience or training; equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Ability to perform basic math operations and work with measurements including fractions and decimals.
• Ability to read and comprehend instructions, specifications, and memos; effective communication with colleagues.
• Able to utilize computer and input data in ERP systems.
• Ability to interpret part prints.
• Ability to accurately measure a manufactured part using basic metrology equipment (caliper, micrometer).

Responsibilities

• Operate resistance welders and Pemserter and perform manual assembly safely to meet standard rates.
• Follow quality procedures to ensure parts meet specifications using metrology equipment.
• Assist in machine setup and maintain records in ERP system.
• Move material and tooling using carts and pallet jacks; participate in basic material handling.
• Support weekly preventive maintenance on equipment and document work orders.
• Assist in training other operators as needed.

KMC is seeking a Weld Equipment Operator to safely and efficiently operate resistance welding and assembly equipment to make parts at-rate and accurately to print.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Operate Resistance Welders & Pemserter, as well as perform manual assembly safely and effectively to meet standard rates
• Adhere to defined quality procedures to ensure quality parts through the use and care of metrology equipment
• Assist in the machine setup process, as necessary
• Accurately record labor, inventory, and job data in ERP system
• Performs basic material handling duties with the use of carts and pallet jacks to move material and tooling
• Maintain equipment thru weekly preventative maintenance tasks and submit timely maintenance work orders
• Assist in the training of Operators, as necessary

QUALIFICATIONS:

• High school diploma or general education (GED) and three to six months prior relevant manufacturing experience and/or training; equivalent combination of education and experience
• Ability to do count, add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure including whole numbers, fractions, and decimals.
• Ability to read and comprehend instructions, specifications, and memos. Ability to effectively communicate with customers and other employees of the organization.
• Able to utilize computer and input data
• Ability to interpret part prints
• Ability to accurately measure a manufactured part using basic metrology equipment (i.e. caliper, micrometer)

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle or feel; occasionally required to sit and talk; frequently required to hear, walk and continuously stand and reach with hands and arms. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 35 pounds and occasionally push and/or pull material. Specific vision abilities required by this position include close vision and the ability to adjust focus. Continuously exposed to manufacturing noise.
