Job summary

KMC Stampings is seeking a 2nd Shift Extrusion Setup Operator in Port Washington, WI to set up, adjust, and operate extrusion machinery with close tolerances. You will read drawings, verify parts, maintain documentation, and ensure quality while maintaining safety and efficiency.

Qualifications include 6-12 months of manufacturing experience, basic blueprint reading, and strong attention to detail. The role requires standing and using precision measuring tools; overtime may be needed.

2nd Shift Extrusion Setup Operator

Under the direction of the Production Supervisor, the Extrusion Machine Set-Up/Operator sets-up, adjusts, and operates a variety of machines including multislide, fourslide, and vertical forming machines to perform close tolerance work requiring a high degree of skill. Diagnose and rectify tooling problems and machine malfunctions. Usually work is of a complicated nature having critical and exacting requirements as to tolerance and finish. Work with minimal supervision from drawings, specifications, and job instructions. Use a variety of precision measuring instruments including optical comparators. Responsible for part quality and efficiency.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Highly motivated self starter
• Strong mechanical aptitude
• Requires 6-12 months of relevant manufacturing experience
• Basic blueprint reading, reading, & writing skills
• Regular attendance is required; punctual, dependable
• Strong attention to detail
• Regularly required to stand, use hands to finger, handle or touch or pull objects, tools, or controls
• Vision abilities required include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision & depth perception
• Occasionally required to sit, reach above shoulders, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, squat, & bend
• Maintains a safe and clean work environment
• Ability to work overtime when required

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle or feel; frequently required to sit and talk or hear; occasionally required to stand, walk, reach with hands and arms. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this position include close vision and the ability to adjust focus.
