Job summary

Form Energy in Weirton, WV is hiring a Weld Engineer to scale production of our iron-air battery. You will lead welding process improvements, apply data-driven insights to enhance quality, throughput, and yield, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to bridge process development and high-volume execution.

You will own welding parameters, monitor process performance with DFMEAs/PFMEAs, and drive safe, compliant manufacturing while supporting long-duration energy storage goals.

Qualifications

• 3+ years in a fast-paced manufacturing environment focusing on welding
• Ownership of welding processes and quality
• Experience with welding processes/parameters (laser, resistance, ultrasonic)
• Proficiency in statistical methods and SQL data querying

Responsibilities

• Lead continuous improvements to optimize welding processes, reduce costs, improve quality, and increase efficiency
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and solve welding-related production issues while maintaining quality
• Conduct root cause analysis and develop corrective/preventive actions for welding equipment, processes, and systems
• Establish and analyze KPIs to identify areas for improvement and meet production targets
• Ensure safety compliance and environmental/health policies in welding operations
