Job summary

Rittal LLC in Urbana, Ohio, seeks a Weld Engineer to drive welding process innovation, and to improve safety, quality, and productivity across fabrication operations. You will develop and optimize welding technologies, support new product launches, and lead capital projects.

You will collaborate with Engineering, Quality, Production, Maintenance, and external suppliers to create safe, scalable manufacturing processes, while pursuing continuous improvement and world-class operation standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Weld Engineering or equivalent required and 3+ years as a Weld Engineer in sheet metal fabrication.
• Experience with sheet metal fabrication welding, powder coating, or stamping is preferred.
• Strong communication skills and ability to present to executive management.
• Proficiency reading mechanical drawings and applying Lean/Six Sigma tools.

Responsibilities

• Maintain safety standards and drive capital projects to improve safety, quality and productivity.
• Develop weld techniques and processes to boost productivity and reliability.
• Lead or support new product development through launches and design reviews.
• Collaborate with Design Engineering, QA, Production and vendors on standards and tooling.
