Job summary

Saronic Technologies is seeking a Weld Engineer to lead the welding program for ship construction at Port Alpha. You will develop WPS/PQR, establish welding standards, and guide automation-driven welding systems to ensure safety, repeatability, and compliance with classification rules.

You will partner with QA and design teams to implement qualification programs and provide technical support to fabrication shops, ensuring high-quality welds and efficient production.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Welding Engineering or related discipline; Understanding of welding processes and metallurgy; Interest in heavy manufacturing or shipbuilding operations.

Responsibilities

• Develop and qualify Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS) and Procedure Qualification Records (PQR) for shipbuilding.
• Build and implement the shipyard’s welding engineering program with QA coordination.
• Support automation and mechanized welding processes with defined parameters for production systems.
• Collaborate with production teams to ensure welding processes support block construction and panel fabrication.
• Define welder qualification requirements and support training programs.
• Coordinate with QA to develop weld inspection programs and corrective actions.
