Job summary

PJ Whelihan's Restaurant + Pub in Oaks, PA is looking for friendly hosts to greet guests and manage seating in a fast-paced, high-volume setting. You will assist guests, track wait times, and coordinate with servers and management to ensure smooth guest flow.

Qualifications

• A positive, can-do attitude and the ability to warmly welcome our guests.
• Pride in appearance and presenting oneself to guests is essential.
• Staying calm, cool, and collected under pressure in a high-volume atmosphere is required.
• Ideal candidate is a leader, responsible and confident in duties.
• Ability to stand for long periods (up to 5 hours).

Responsibilities

• Greet guests warmly upon arrival.
• Open the front door for guests entering and leaving when possible.
• Record guest names and party sizes when immediate seating is limited.
• Provide guests with estimated waiting times.
• Call out name and party when tables become available.
• Seat guests based on guest preferences and balance flow.
• Inform guests of servers' names and inspect table presentation.
• Relay messages to servers and bussers as needed.
• Thank guests as they leave and invite them to return.
• Maintain a clean hostess station and keep entrance area tidy.
• Follow management communications via Hot Schedules for shifts.
