The YMCA of Coastal Carolina is seeking a Welcome Center Representative to create a welcoming and positive experience for members, guests, and program participants in Myrtle Beach.   • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Previous customer service, hospitality, retail, sales, or related experience preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, customer service, and problem-solving skills.
  • Comfortable initiating conversations and promoting YMCA memberships, programs, and services.
  • Basic computer skills with the ability to learn membership, registration, and point-of-sale systems.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and remain professional in a fast-paced environment.
  • Demonstrates reliability, attention to detail, and a commitment to providing a welcoming and inclusive experience.
  • Current CPR, First Aid, AED, Child Abuse Prevention, and other required YMCA training, or the ability to obtain them within established timeframes.
  • Must successfully complete required background screenings and comply with YMCA policies and procedures.

  • Builds positive relationships with members and helps connect individuals and families with YMCA programs, services, and opportunities.
  • Maintains current knowledge of YMCA memberships, programs, schedules, events, policies, and services to provide accurate information.
  • Responds to member questions and concerns professionally and timely, escalating sensitive or unresolved matters to appropriate leadership.
  • Follows established procedures for cash handling, point-of-sale transactions, member records, and confidential information.
  • Applies YMCA policies, procedures, safety practices, and Child Protection Standards consistently and respectfully.
  • Maintains a clean, organized, and welcoming Welcome Center and lobby area and reports facility or safety concerns as needed.
  • Assists with locker keys, facility access, and monitoring of designated member areas as assigned.
  • Participates in required staff meetings, trainings, and YMCA initiatives.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

POSITION SUMMARY

The Welcome Center Representative creates a welcoming and positive experience for members, guests, and program participants at the YMCA of Coastal Carolina. WORK ENVIRONMENT & PHYSICAL DEMANDS
  • Work is performed primarily at the Welcome Center and throughout an active YMCA facility with frequent interaction with members, guests, participants, and staff.
  • Regularly required to sit, stand, walk, bend, reach, and move throughout the facility for extended periods.
  • Frequently uses computers, phones, point-of-sale systems, and other technology to provide member service.
  • Must be able to lift, carry, push, and pull supplies or materials weighing up to 25 pounds occasionally.
  • Requires visual and auditory awareness to communicate effectively, monitor the surrounding environment, and respond appropriately to member needs and emergency situations.
  • Must be able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment with frequent interruptions while maintaining a professional and welcoming presence.
