Job summary

Under the supervision of the Fitness Manager, the Weight Room Attendant monitors the weight room and exercise area and orients members on the various machines and equipment in those areas.

This annual, year-round position follows SRWC hours and may include evenings and weekends. The role emphasizes safety, proper operation of equipment, and confidentiality of client information in line with HIPAA guidelines.

Qualifications

• Must be a current CSULB student enrolled in at least 6 units.
• Ability to connect well with students and staff.
• Respect for diverse groups and dependable/punctual behavior.

Responsibilities

• Learn how to operate weight equipment and machines.
• Report equipment issues and misuse.
• Learn facility rules and safety procedures.
• Supervise recreational facility usage as designated.
• Promote and enforce ASI Recreation policies.
• Maintain safety and cleanliness of equipment.
• Provide a welcoming environment for staff and participants.
• Attend staff meetings and trainings.
• Maintain client files and confidentiality per HIPAA.
• Other duties within scope of job.
