Job summary

Atrium Health Floyd is seeking an Advanced Practice Physician (APP) to join the Surgery team on a full-time basis. Schedule is 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday, with no on-call, weekends, or holidays.

The APP performs histories and exams, orders and interprets studies, prescribes therapies, and collaborates with an interdisciplinary team to develop care plans and ensure high-quality outcomes. Requires PA-C or NP licensure with relevant master’s-level education.

Qualifications

• Master’s Degree in Nursing from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program.
• Master’s Degree from an accredited Physician Assistant program.

Responsibilities

• Complete and document comprehensive histories and physical assessments.
• Order, perform, supervise, and interpret diagnostic studies.
• Prescribe treatments, medications, and therapies.
• Apply primary and secondary prevention strategies for patient care.
• Document information clearly in patient records and coordinate care plans.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team to optimize outcomes.
• Meet billing and productivity metrics and maintain documentation.
• Provide education to patients, families, and staff.
• Engage in leadership discussions on quality and best practices.
• Participate in ongoing professional development and research.
