Job summary

MaineHealth is seeking a compassionate Medical Assistant to join the Weight Management team in Belfast, ME. The MA will work alongside a supportive care team to assist with patient intake, measurements, and clinical tasks, helping patients on their journey to healthier lives.

Applicants with a high school diploma or GED and relevant medical assisting training or experience are encouraged to apply. Sign-on bonuses apply for full-time roles, with prorated bonuses for part-time positions.

Qualifications

• Education: High School diploma or GED preferred. Must meet one of the following: graduation from an accredited medical assisting program with 160 hours clinical, completion of an Adult Education Medical Assistant program with 6 months clinical, or 1 year clinical experience in a multi-provider practice.
• Licensure/Certifications: Current AAMA, NHA, AMT, NCCT, or NREMT certification preferred. Current BLS certification required or must obtain within 30 days of start date.
• Experience: Relevant experience as a Medical Assistant preferred.

Responsibilities

• Support weight management team with patient intake, measurements, and documentation.
• Assist clinicians during visits, perform basic clinical tasks, and coordinate care as part of the team.
• Engage patients to support healthy lifestyle changes and build meaningful connections.
