Job summary

University Hospitals is seeking a Weekender Registered Nurse (RN) for the Heart and Vascular Acute Care Step Down Unit (Lerner Tower 7). Weekenders work two 12-hour shifts between Friday 7:00 PM and Monday 7:00 AM, earning a 1.5x differential on those hours.

This role includes patient care on a telemetry unit focused on vascular surgery, electrophysiology, and interventional cardiology, with full-time medical and dental benefits, relocation and a sign-on bonus for part-time hires.

Qualifications

• Thorough knowledge of nursing process and practice.
• 1 year of RN experience required.
• Current OH RN license and BLS certification required.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care on the Heart & Vascular Acute Care Step Down Unit.
• Follow unit protocols and documentation requirements; ensure patient safety and PHI compliance.

Weekender Registered Nurse (RN) Heart and Vascular Acute Care Step Down Unit - ( 2600090G )

Individuals hired for a Weekender position are required to work two (2) 12-hour shifts between 7:00 PM Friday and 7:00 AM Monday. In return for this commitment, Weekenders will be compensated at 1.5 times their regular hourly rate for these shifts. Individuals in Weekender roles qualify for full-time medical and dental benefits, whereas eligibility for all other benefits is at part-time levels.

About Lerner Tower 7 (Heart & Vascular Acute Care/Step Down Unit)

Lerner Tower 7 is a 30 bed telemetry unit with 9 beds that are capable of flexing to a stepdown level of care. Specifically, our focus is on Vascular Surgery, Electrophysiology and Interventional Cardiology, including care of the TAVR patient population. We encourage participation in our unit council where our nurses and PCNAs have a voice to make suggestions and talk about their concerns.

Position Requirements:

Thorough knowledge of nursing process and practice. Uses a wide variety of technical equipment to meet patient needs and prescribed medical therapies (ie. Stethoscopes, thermometers, sphygmomanometers and electronic monitoring devices. Demonstrates a professional demeanor when responding to patients.

1 year of RN experience required

Education Requirements:

Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred.

Minimum of Diploma/Associate’s Degree in nursing from accredited program.

License Requirements:

Registered nurse with current license to practice in the state of Ohio.

Current BLS Provider Certification, issued by the American Heart Association, must be obtained during Nursing Orientation
