Job summary

Fox Valley Park District in Aurora, IL seeks a Youth Basketball League Scorekeeper for Saturdays, 8:00am-2:00pm, during fall/winter seasons. This part-time, seasonal role supports youth leagues by recording scores, fouls, and timeouts and by handling the game clock and scoreboard.

Training is provided; CPR/First Aid certification will be arranged if needed. The district emphasizes sportsmanship, fair play, and a safe, positive environment for players, coaches, referees, and spectators.

Qualifications

• Candidates should meet the minimum age requirement of 16 and have a basic understanding of basketball rules and scoring.
• Demonstrate strong attention to detail and reliability, punctuality, and the ability to work independently.
• Effective communication is essential in a fast-paced youth sports environment.

Responsibilities

• Accurately tracking game scores, fouls, timeouts, and game time during youth basketball games.
• Operate the official game clock and scoreboard; communicate with referees about discrepancies.
• Maintain legible score sheets for league records; ensure equipment is set up and functioning.
• Assist with court setup and cleanup; enforce district code of conduct and league rules.
• Arrive on time, stay attentive, and help maintain a safe, positive, and sportsmanlike environment.
