Job summary

The Ponce Care Center in St. Augustine, FL is seeking a Weekend Wound Care Nurse to join our calm, patient-centered team.

You will perform wound assessments, develop plans of care, educate residents and families, supervise CNAs, and help implement wound care policies. Must be licensed in Florida with at least one year in long-term care; weekend shifts include on-call rotation and comprehensive benefits are available.

Qualifications

• Must be a Licensed Nurse in Florida.
• Minimum of one year of experience in long-term care.
• Must possess leadership and teamwork skills.
• On-call rotation is included.

Responsibilities

• Perform wound assessments, reassessment, and management for residents.
• Create plan of care including goals, treatments, evaluation and outcomes.
• Provide education to residents, family, and staff regarding wound management and therapies.
• Direct nursing care and supervise CNAs and other nursing personnel.
• Develop and implement wound care policies and procedures.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities of the Wound Care Nurse:

• Perform wound assessments, reassessment, and management for all residents.
• Create plan of care including goals, treatment, evaluation and outcomes of residents.
• Provide education to residents, family, and staff regarding wound management, prevention, support, and other therapies.
• Direct nursing care to the residents, and to supervise the day-to-day nursing activities performed by CNAs and other nursing personnel.
• Demonstrate knowledge and skill to develop and implement policies and procedures to manage residents with wounds.

Included in the On Call rotation

Job Requirements of Wound Care Nurse:

• Must be a Licensed Nurse in good standing and currently licensed by the state where our facility is located (FL)
• Minimum of one year of experience in long-term care setting
• Must be a supportive team member, contribute to, and be an example of teamwork.
• Must possess leadership and supervisory ability and willingness to work harmoniously with staff.
