Job summary

The Downtown YMCA in Omaha is seeking a Weekend Wellness Coach to engage members, encourage healthier habits, and guide personal wellness plans. This part-time role emphasizes building relationships, guiding group activities, and promoting YMCA wellness programs.

You’ll work with diverse members and contribute to a supportive community environment. Qualifications include 18+ years old, college coursework in Exercise Science or related fields, and CPR/First Aid training within 30 days.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Two or more years of college preferred, pursuing a degree in Exercise Science, Wellness Health Promotion or related health field.
• Must be able to enforce rules, and speak in public.
• Must be enthusiastic and knowledgeable about resistance and cardiorespiratory training.
• Ability to work independently with attention to detail.
• Complete required trainings within specified timelines including CPR/First Aid and abuse prevention.

Responsibilities

• Builds effective, authentic relationships with members and the YMCA.
• Coaches members in support of their desired behavior change.
• Introduces new members to group exercise communities based on health goals.
• Answers member questions to support healthy living goals.
• Utilizes tools and information to increase knowledge of wellness programs.
• Maintains and cleans equipment as scheduled; follows policies and responds to emergencies.
