Job summary

Socket.dev is seeking a qualified activity therapist for a PART TIME WEEKEND POSITION. The role requires 10 hours per day on Saturdays and Sundays to plan, direct and implement activity therapy programs as part of the patient’s treatment plan.

Responsibilities include completing activity assessments, developing treatment plans, leading sessions, and promoting patient safety. Education requirements: Bachelor's in Therapeutic Recreation or related field; Master’s preferred; CPR and de-escalation

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Therapeutic Recreation or related field required.
• Master’s degree preferred.
• Two+ years’ experience in recreation in a healthcare setting.
• CPR and de-escalation/restraint certification required.
• First aid may be required based on state or facility.

Responsibilities

• Complete activity assessments through observation and interviews to tailor treatment plans.
• Plan and implement therapy activities to support treatment goals.
• Lead sessions in therapeutic leisure activities (sports, dance, music, art, relaxation).
• Promote patient safety and resolve complaints with empathy and professionalism.
• Provide activities to develop social skills and leisure independence.
