Job summary

SC Steel, LLC is seeking a motivated Structural Welder to join our Upstate South Carolina team. You will weld, cut, and grind to meet AWS D1.1 and D1.8 codes in a safe, productive environment while maintaining high quality. This Weekend Shift (Fri-Sun, 6:00 AM–6:30 PM) is eligible for a shift premium.

The role requires reading weld symbols, basic geometry, and MIG welding of structural steel, with preheat and post-weld finishing per WPS. A High School Diploma or GED is required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Must pass 2G weld test.
• Mig Structural Steel Welding experience required.
• Ability to read weld symbols and WPS.
• Safety-focused with attention to quality.

Responsibilities

• Preheat steel per instructions and AWS specs.
• Perform welds to specification including size, profile, length, and finish.
• Back gouge welds as necessary to complete welds.
• Read weld symbols and WPS.
• Sequence welds to maximize efficiency and minimize distortion.
• Ensure safety and quality standards.
